Wilpattu National Park extends from the northwest coast towards inland ancient capital city of Anuradhapura. There are approximately 30 species of mammals in the Wilpattu National Park which include the Sri Lankan Elephants, Sri Lankan Leopards, Lankan Sloth Beasr, Sri Lankan Spotted Deer, Buffalo, Mongoose and so on.

The park is full of fascinating birds and animals and is thus one of the most famous tourist attractions of the country. Due to the immense wildlife of the park and the scenic beauty, the park is a perfect camping site for the tourists and is a perfect spot for safari as well. Three shifts of safari are offered in shape of morning safari, evening safari and full day safari which can be chosen according to the preferences.
