Adam’s Peak
Thousands of pilgrims of all faiths hold Adam’s Peak sacred and make the pilgrimage to the temple at the top with Buddhists wishing to see the footprint of the Gautama Buddha. The 2243 metre mountain offers views over the surrounding mountains, valleys and reservoirs as the sun casts the mountain’s shadow over the land below. In season time, which is between Poya Day in December and Vesak in May, the path to the summit is lined with tea shops and lights allowing you the opportunity to spend time with Sri Lankans of all religions and from all regions on your ascent.
